Moving Tips
When moving your reptile, make sure the carrier you're using is moist at all times. This can be done by placing a damp cloth inside to keep the interior wet. Avoid moving during extremely cold or hot weather. If you're planning on staying at a hotel, let your reptile take a long soak in the bathtub to rejuvenate.
If you're moving locally, you may not even need to pack or disassemble some of your larger items. If you're new home is only a short distance away from your old one, items such as drawers, mattresses, and couches can be transported safely without any preparation. There are certain items that should always be packed, such as lamps and lampshades, fragile items like crystal and glassware, and any antique items you may have.
When packing stemware, you should properly wrap the outside of your stemware and insert packing paper into the hollow side of the receptacle. Soft cloth items such as dish towels work very well as packing material for stemware. Be sure not to place too many in a single carton and fill any extra space with crumpled packing paper to prevent shifting.
It can be difficult to maintain your enthusiasm after spending seven to eight weeks packing your home, making arrangements, and searching for moving companies. Moving can be hard on families, no matter how adequately prepared you are. Chances are, not everyone in your family will be happy with it.
